The Indiana University School of Informatics has set as its goal to be nationally recognized as the foremost in the country for excellence and leadership in Informatics programs, including undergraduate and graduate education, research, placement and outreach.

Our mission is to serve the citizens of the state of Indiana by inspiring and educating the next generation of information technology professionals, enabling them to apply their problem solving and technology skills to serve our society.

To this end, we work to:

  • Produce graduates who become leaders in the growing information economy of Indiana and the world.
  • Engage our students in interdisciplinary research and internship.
  • Prepare our students for graduate studies in Informatics.
  • Develop an outreach program to engage our local and regional organizations.
